Efficiency Vermont’s Energy Star Homes Service for Washington Electric Co-op Members
The following describes the specifications and processes for building an ENERGY STAR qualified home.
Here’s the VESH 2013 incentives available through Efficiency Vermont, and additional incentives that WEC pays its members who enroll and build an ENERGY STAR qualified home:
AVAILABLE TO CO-OP MEMBERS ONLY $150
WEC will provide this bonus for a participant in the Vermont ENERGY STAR home service. The house must meet or exceed the state’s minimum energy efficiency code (RBES*) as verified by a final home energy rating. A code certificate will also be provided with this bonus.
*Residential Building Energy Standards (RBES) is the state’s energy efficiency code outlining the minimum energy efficiency levels that all new homes must meet.
AVAILABLE TO ALL IN VERMONT
All ENERGY STAR qualified homes in Vermont receive $100
Light Fixtures
All ENERGY STAR qualified homes must have at least four (4) qualifying fixtures installed in qualifying locations. A maximum of twenty (20) qualifying fixtures are eligible for incentives.
Surface-Mounted Hardwired Fluorescent Fixtures $15 per fixture
Hardwired Compact Fluorescent Recessed Ceiling Fixtures $25 per fixture
Lighting/Appliance Combination
When you install ten (10)* qualifying light fixtures and three (3) ENERGY STAR qualified appliances, you receive an additional $700
*Homes 1,500 square feet and under need only six (6) light fixtures
AVAILABLE TO CO-OP MEMBERS ONLY
All ENERGY STAR qualified homes built by WEC members receive an additional $500
Mechanical Ventilation System
Qualifying comprehensive ventilation system on automatic controls (e.g. Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system, balance supply and return ventilation system, etc.) $500
