ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Cooperative's 71st Annual Membership Meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Montpelier Elks Lodge (Note: change in location from last year).

All announced major party gubernatorial candidates have been invited to participate in WEC's "Energy Issues Facing Vermont" forum which will be the featured program at the annual meeting. The following have confirmed their participation: Susan Bartlett, Matt Dunne, Deborah Markowitz, Doug Racine, and Peter Shumlin.

In order to allow sufficient time for this forum, registration has been moved to 4:30 and a chicken and mostacolli (meat or meatless) dinner will be from 5:00 - 6:00. The dinner is by reservation only.

Cooperatives are locally owned and controlled by their members. WEC's one member household -one vote system opens up exciting opportunities for members to participate in the decision-making process of the Co-op. They do that by participating in and attending the Co-op's Annual Membership Meeting, which is held in May. The Annual Meeting is where members have the opportunity to vote for candidates for director and proposed bylaw amendments, and to give direct input to the Board of Directors, General Manager and staff. Members who choose not to attend the Annual Meeting in person may participate in the election process by mailed ballot.
