November 17, 2017 @ 2:30 pm

The weather forecast calls for gusty west to northwesterly winds in the 35 to 45 mph range on Sunday, November 19. Strongest gusts appear to stay in higher elevations with speeds up to 50 and 60 mph. A sub-alert warning is expected to be issued Sunday afternoon for west to northwest winds  in the higher elevations that may cause tree limb damage with the area of concern for utilities generally immediately east of the Green mountains. Areas of most concern include Windsor and Windham Counties Sunday afternoon into the early evening.

Snow showers/flurries are likely as the highest winds push into the region. Burst’s of snow may enhance those gusty winds briefly at times.

In the event of a large and widespread outage, we may post more information as it becomes available at this web page. However, please note the updates can be delayed as crews and staff are focusing on restoring power in the field.  For real time information please use the WEC outage map link on the previous page. It is linked to our computer system and automatically updates to display outage data by town.
