Washington Electric Cooperative is experiencing widespread outages in Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex, Worcester and smaller outages elsewhere in its territory due to damage from thunderstorms.
More than 500 WEC members are without power and crews are working at several locations where there is damage to lines and poles. At least one pole is broken, meaning that restoration efforts will likely take several hours. We also anticipate there may be additional storm damage later tonight. Statewide, more than 1,400 customers across Vermont are out of power. Thank you for your patience.
If you see a tree on power lines or lines down, please report it to us: local 802-223-5245 or toll-free 1-800-932-5245.
Remember:Â Do not approach downed lines or trees on lines, as they may still be energized.
