Outages – 12/4 -12/6/2023

Wednesday, December 6 – 7 am

WEC crews worked overnight and restored power to 156 members. Crews will finish restoring power to the remaining 44 members in Calais and Groton this morning where there was extensive pole damage. Power should be restored by noon today. If you still do not have power by noon, please call us at 802-223-5245 or toll-free 1-800-932-5245.

WEC crews, again assisted by nearly 30 other line workers and by tree crews, have worked around the clock since the early morning on Sunday, December 3 to restore outages to roughly 3,700 WEC members throughout the Co-op’s service territory. Similarly to last week, Sunday night brought a snowstorm comprised of heavy, wet snow to Vermont, which weighed down trees. The majority of the outages were caused by trees interacting with the power lines or by snow unloading from trees.

We would like to thank…

  • All those outside crews who assisted with the restoration process—your quick and kind response helped us restore power to our members.
  • The vendors and others who provided support to our line workers so they could continue working.
  • All WEC line workers for their hard work and dedication, the dispatchers for organizing the restoration efforts and keeping folks on track, the member services representatives for fielding calls from our members reporting outages or simply seeking reassurance, and all other staff for their work keeping everyone fed, warm, and sane.
  • Most of all, our members for their patience and understanding as we worked as safely and quickly as we could to restore power.

Thank you!

Remember: Do not approach downed lines or trees on lines, as they may still be energized.
