Line workers successfully completed restoration of power across WEC territory this evening! Thank you for your patience and your understanding as we worked to repair the damage to our system.
Remember: If you see lines down, do not touch or approach them. They could still be energized. Please report any downed wires or trees by calling us immediately at 1-802-223-5245 or 1-800-932-5245. Please check back regularly for updates.
March 11, 2024 – 3 pm
Line workers continue to make progress, with members out of power reduced to roughly 450. Most of the significant outages have crews actively working on restoration. We still expect to get most of those without power back on by tonight, although some scattered outages may not be completed until tomorrow.

March 11, 2024 – 1:30 pm
Crews are encountering extensive damage in the Roxbury, Northfield and Williamstown area as they work to restore power which is slowing our restoration efforts. We are down to roughly 600 members without power and line workers are replacing a second broken pole. We still anticipate getting the bulk of the remaining outages back on today.

March 11, 2024 – 9:30 am
Several additional crews have arrived to help WEC line workers restore power outages in our territory. While we are making progress, we anticipate that some outages may persist into tomorrow, especially as we may have new damage from continuing winter weather. We will keep you up to date here.

March 11, 2024 – 6 am
WEC line workers continued restoring power to members overnight, bringing the number out of service down to about 1,000. Crews from Vermont Electric Cooperative and Stowe Electric Department helped us yesterday and we anticipate additional outside crews in our territory today. While we expect to get most members who remain out of service back on today, there are some difficult repairs remaining on the system and we anticipate additional wind and likely some new issues on the lines today.
WEC had nearly 5,000 members out of power as of Sunday morning. About 2,500 remain out statewide now.

March 10, 2024 – 4:45 pm
WEC crews continue to work on restoring power to members, assisted by line workers from other Vermont utilities. While they are making good progress, it is likely that we will see outages continue into tomorrow if not beyond.

March 10, 2024 – 3 pm
Crews have restored the transmission line outage to the Moretown Substation and WEC outages have been brought down to fewer than 3,000 members. We anticipate getting crews from other utilities to assist WEC personnel. Line workers will continue restoring power, but it is likely that some outages will linger into tomorrow at least. In addition, we way see additional outages as snow unloads from trees or more weather moves in to our areas.

March 10, 2024 – 10:40 am
Even as crews restore power in some parts of our territory, we are seeing additional outages crop up. WEC is now experiencing outages in some of the more northerly parts of our territory, as are the utilities to our north. Crews continue to work, and there are nearly 4,000 members out of power currently.

March 10, 2024 – 10:00 am
WEC crews were able to restore a major outage in the Topsham area, bringing the number of members out of power down to about 3,500 total, although we do still have members out in that town. The transmission line to the Moretown Substation remains out, and crews are working in the area.

March 10, 2024 – 9:30 am
As additional information has come in and as additional outages have occurred, there are now more than 4,000 WEC members out of power. All crews are working on restoration, but given the road conditions, the number of outages and the heavy wet snow which remains on trees across our region returning power to all WEC members will likely take a day or more.
Statewide, more than 22,000 Vermonters are out of power.

March 10, 2024 – 8:30 am
Outages for WEC are primarily in the southern two-thirds of our territory, with the Walden and Danville areas not showing any significant outages right now.
The GMP transmission line which provides power to our Moretown Substation is out of service, but crews are working on it. As soon as it is restored we may see many members in that area, including Middlesex and Moretown get power back. However, it is also likely we will discover additional outages on the WEC system when that transmission line is restored.

March 10, 2024 – 8:00 am
More than 3,000 WEC members are now without power, with more than 15,000 out statewide. Crews are assessing and starting to repair damage from heavy, wet snow across our territory. Many of the outages appear to be from trees contacting power lines when they bend or come down under the snow. Given that more than a quarter of WEC members are out of power and given the condition of roads in our area, some outages will likely last through tomorrow. WEC has requested help from other Vermont utilities.

March 10, 2024 – 6:00 am
Like much of central and southern Vermont, WEC territory is experiencing power outages due to wet heavy snow. The current outage total is 1066 with the Duxbury/Fayston and Corinth/Vershire having the highest number of outages. Crews have been dispatched and will be working steadily to restore power to all members. Statewide there are currently 13298 without power.
