Winds this morning are causing additional outages in WEC territory. Crews came in early and are out working on those issues now, but we anticipate more events as wind continues across the state. About 74 WEC members are out of power currently, with about 200 out statewide.
Remember: if you see lines down, do not touch or approach them. They could still be energized. Please report any downed wires or trees by calling WEC immediately at 1-802-223-5245 or 1-800-932-5245.
Monday, December 29, 2025 – 2:15 pm
WEC is down to having about 500 members out of service at this point, but a few additional outages continue to come in.
A broken pole in Vershire affecting about 50 members will likely mean that outage will take until tomorrow morning to repair as downed trees have to cleared in order to access the area and replace the pole.

WEC crews have successfully restored power to more than 3,600 members, including in several spots where restoration had already been done once or twice only to have another outage. Currently there are 18 outage events affecting roughly 1,500 members.
An outage in Vershire caused by a broken pole and affecting about 50 members may take into tomorrow to repair as access is blocked by downed trees and ice.

Warmer temperatures have been slower to arrive than hoped, but we still anticipate restoring all current outages today. Additional outages may occur this evening and overnight as winds pick up.

Monday, December 29, 2025 – 8:40 am
WEC crews have successfully repaired the outage affecting the Maple Corners Substation, bringing the total number of members out of service down to about 460. Line crew members continue to work, but as there are 11 separate issues around the territory and travel remains difficult full restoration may take some time.

Ice has caused power outages across Vermont, including in WEC territory. The transmission line serving the Maple Corners substation is out, and there are two other events on WEC lines. Crews are working on or on the way to all three current outages, but very icy roads are making travel slow.
We anticipate additional outages as the day goes on, and likely overnight as well with strong winds predicted.
