Tuesday– 7/21/26 – 2:15 pm

WEC crews have discovered the cause of the large outage in East Montpelier and Plainfield. A tree came down on a line near the Country Club Road in Plainfield. Unfortunately, crews will have to take additional outages in order to safely and efficiently remove the tree and restore power, so additional members will be taken out of service temporarily in order to make the repair. Just fewer than 900 WEC members are out of service while the repair is being made. About 3,200 are out statewide.

About 300 WEC members are out of power currently, primarily those served by the feeder that runs from East Montpelier to Plainfield. Crews are patrolling the lines now to find the cause and repair it. The outage is also affecting our outage map, which we are also working to get back online.
